Writing Grants for Capital Campaigns
Grant writing is often overlooked as a valuable component of a successful capital campaign. The wording can guarantee 25% or more of its total capital and the goal of the campaign can help to complete a project that has stalled, but is nearly complete. But while the first is not usually guaranteed money is funding that you must start the search, while still early in the campaign, but after some pre-release of funding has been secured. While each organization will carry out a campaign donation by writing in another way, here are some general steps to follow:
First identify the group of sympathizers who can become a major donor and undertake to give great gifts. Great gifts from major donors are defined as an important part of a person’s net worth. Usually, major gifts are defined as a minimum of $ 25,000. For very small non-profit organizations, a major donation can be defined as a minimum of $ 5,000. Large donations are also defined as a 5% equity, 10% of annual income, or 10 times larger gift. These donors represent about 50% of the total capital campaign. If this is not possible, you may not be ready to conduct the campaign.
Secondly, you should look at ensuring greater contributions (grants) for new donors (foundations). This grant can provide up to 25% of the total capital campaign and builds on the success of its major donor efforts. Third, fill in the last part of the campaign with the capital that small annual donors and donors willing to give an additional gift. This can be 25% of the total. Finally, you will return to its major donors and foundations to ensure the provision of "complete the financing."
