When searching for technology grants have to look at the pros and cons of federal government guidance to fund technology grants for profit operations. In seeking funding for programs I think there are three benefits of federal government guidance 1. The money is true, 2. There is easy access to information, and 3. The larger orders therefore more profits. Whereas, three disadvantages are: the proposal of the offer wide, a considerable amount of paper work for all maintenance of the contract and the competition is great.
The first advantage that the list is that money is safe. If my company were to obtain a contract for the business of government would be determined to pay. It would cut the late payment or collections process we currently deal with smaller entities or individuals. The second advantage to the federal government’s goal is that the government can provide easier accessibility of information to its contractors through up-to-date websites that do not always have access to smaller suppliers. Greatest benefit Finally, the third advantage I see is that large orders of Equal. Securing a contract with the government order would probably be a substantial and beneficial to our company, it would be worth any hurdles that may have to jump through the long run.
The first drawback I see the direction the federal government is more likely a wide nomination process. We have presented bids from local vendors or even the possibility of comparing several hundred pages to a government proposal might contain. This would mean many hours spent in physical preparation of the bid proposal. Secondly, I think a major disadvantage for my company if we were to secure an offer of government is to be a considerable amount of red tape in order to maintain the contract. The government is under the public eye and therefore set out strict regulations that providers must follow, which includes much paperwork! This again, involves many hours to keep up with this obligation. The third disadvantage is that I believe that competition would be enormous. Although governments are asked for smaller companies, I believe that competition among smaller companies, would be great. I feel that my company is at a disadvantage to competitors based simply on the fact that firstly, we are not a depressed business and second, that we are not a minority-owned company.
Having said all that, I would advise my company address to "go for it"! I think you should pursue government contracts and justify this by saying that I think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages in our situation. I think the potential benefit enough to justify my recommendation. However, before making the final decision to continue, I too would recommend my company to revise our current budget and make sure that the cost of overtime involved in the preparation of the proposed offering will be accessible even if the contract was not awarded. Then, of course, if the contract is awarded the cost of maintaining documentation should be so considered.
